Single Equality Scheme is published

QIA has published its Single Equality Scheme which outlines how we will fulfil our statutory duties to promote equality of opportunity and avoid discrimination on grounds of race, disability and gender.

The scheme takes account of equality regulations covering age, religion or belief, sexual orientation and gender reassignment, as well as the Work and Families Act 2006. It also summaries our role in improving performance in the Further Education and skills sector.

Improving equality of opportunity is essential to us in achieving our vision of excellence in the sector. The scheme sets out our aims to respond positively to our statutory duties, monitor the impact of our work to seek opportunities for improvement and seek to be a model of good practice. The scheme includes an action plan that will help us achieve these aims.
