Network of partners

We are working with national and regional partners to help organisations and teachers, trainers, lecturers and support staff throughout the sector to improve quality across the board

Here are some of the joint initiatives which we shall be working on:

  • Producing the sector's National Improvement Strategy

    Partners: The Learning and Skills Council (LSC), the Inspectorates, Jobcentre Plus, Lifelong Learning UK, the Centre for Excellence in Leadership, the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), Becta and Ufi learndirect
  • Supporting staff delivering new specialised diplomas and functional skills for 14-19 year olds

    Partners: The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, the Training and Development Agency for Schools and the DfES National Strategies contractor. This work will build on the Increased Flexibility programme and the 14 –19 pathfinders
  • Developing a new quality framework for vocational provision

    Partners: The LSC, the Skills for Business Network, employers and their associations. This project will also develop packages of support to help improve progression, especially to Level 2 and Skills for Life and through apprenticeships and Train to Gain
  • Supporting the Framework for Achievement and Diplomas

    Partners: The Sector Skills Development Agency and the QCA
  • Supporting quality improvement in workforce strategies

    Partners: The national skills academies. This work will involve developing suitable teaching and learning resources and supporting networks of employer-focused providers based on economic sectors
  • The employer-focused quality standard

    Partner: The LSC
  • Web-based services for quality improvement

    Partner: Becta
  • Helping implement the sector's new measures of success Partners: The LSC, the Inspectorates and the DfES. This project also involves helping teachers, trainers and lecturers to use the measures as tools for self-assessment and self-improvement
  • Managing Information Across Partners (MIAP). This is about streamlining how information on learning and achievement is collected, handled and shared across the education sector so that excellent services are made available to individuals, employers and communities
