How colleges improve

The factors that make for successful and rapid college improvement and the barriers that prevent improvement taking place will be explored at two half-day workshops sponsored by QIA and CEL.

The workshops, How colleges improve, will be held by the Association of Colleges and Ofsted in London on 30 September and in Leeds on 3 October 2008. The programme will feature keynote speeches by Kate Anderson, acting chief executive of QIA, and Roger McClure, chief executive of the Learning and Skills Improvement Service.

Teacher research conference

QIA is supporting the National Teacher Research Panel's biennial conference in London on 24 and 25 November 2008.

The conference will provide a forum for teachers, school leaders, local and national policy-makers and professional researchers to learn together from the best practitioner research. This year the event is being run in partnership with the Teaching and Learning Research Programme. For more information go to the NTRP conference website
