Programmes and activities to improve the quality of ICT provision and e-learning
Current priorities are:
- Enrichment of the Teaching and Learning Programme with an e-learning related module and activity to support the Professional Training Programme (PTP) for Subject Learning Coaches (SLC) and the Management Support Programme ( MSP). This work is managed by the Learning and Skills Network (LSN). See here for more information
- Consolidation of the expertise and experience of the continuous professional development that has been developed and delivered previously as part of the Learning and Skills Council's (LSC) Post-16 e-learning programme
- Delivery of the e-Guides programme by the National Institute for Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) to Adult and Community Learning (ACL), Workbased learning (WBL) and offender learning, parallel to the SLC programme. See here for more information

Provision of e-learning resources in the Teaching and Learning programme repository on the Excellence Gateway
Working with DIUS and Lifelong Learning UK and the Centres for Excellence in Teacher Training (CETTs) to ensure that e-learning is embedded in initial teacher training
Working with DIUS and other partners to provide support in the area of e-learning to underpin the major reforms that came into force on September 1st for the requirement for all teachers, tutors, trainers and lecturers to fulfil at leas 30 hours of continuous professional development each year
Working with the Centre for Excellence in Leadership to develop and promote the use of ICT and e-learning in leadership training and support using the whole organisational approach for quality improvement through embedding the use of e-learning
QIA works in partnership with Becta, thelead agency in the strategic development and delivery of Harnessing Technology, the Government's e-strategy to achieve a more personalised approach within all areas of education and children’s services. In developing the Improvement Strategy for the further education system, QIA will work with Becta to ensure the Improvement Strategy takes forward the relevantrecommendations in Harnessing Technology and in particular the research being carried out on the levels of e-maturity across the sector.
