Principles of the Improvement Strategy
Developing effective partnerships
There need to be effective partnerships between:
- providers/colleges and learners/employers - so that the former may become fully responsive to the latter's needs
- colleges and providers and the national partners providing support services - to ensure services meet their diverse needs
- leaders, senior managers, governing bodies and staff - to develop a culture of self improvement
- colleges and providers - to create networks, peer support and sharing of good practice
- the national partners that provide support - to ensure that their services are coherent and mutually supportive, their roles are clear and they all add value to the system
- government and the further education system - to ensure that policy development and implementation are informed by the experience of those working in colleges and providers
